Poems

Hey bloggers!
Today, I will be sharing the poems I've made up. There were 6 poems I wrote. 3 of them were about a car ride to the beach,  the other 3 were about the day at the beach.

Car ride - The first one I wrote was about a car ride to the beach. It explains what's in the beach without using the word 'Beach'. The first poem is a free-verse poem, it still rhymes but it has a different amount of words in some of the sentences. The second poem, I don't know what it is called.

The Beach - This poem talks about the activities done at the beach, for example, swimming in the sea or having a picnic. I made a second poem about it like the first poem I did.
On the 3rd page there are 2 cinquain poems. One
based on the car ride and the other based on the beach.

I really enjoyed writing these poems because they really got me thinking. I needed to write sentences that rhymed, that had the right punctuation and also, that were creative. I like writing poems because there are a lot of different types of poems. I write them because you could talk about anything and it is very playful. I hope you enjoyed reading my blogpost. Make sure to give me some feedback in one of the comments. Blog you later!

Anzac Day Craft

Fakaalofa lahi atu everyone,
This week I planned to do something for Anzac Day. I decided to make a cross surrounded by poppies.

Anzac activity:
I made this cross out of sticks. I cut a bottle near the bottom and filled it with some dirt. Then I put the cross into it, and put letter stickers on the bottle. I used the stickers to make the words 'Lest we FORGET'. I wanted to add something to it so I printed out some poppies and coloured them in. I used a pin to hold it down into the dirt. I made this in 2-3 days. My sister did the same thing as me but she used the top of the bottle for the base.
We decorated it by putting different coloured pins around the cross. It was REALLY fun.

This was placed beside
the front door.
Anzac biscuits:
Me, Josie, Travis and Dad went for a walk. When we came back we found out that my Mum was baking some Anzac biscuits. She put some chocolate chips in it but then it melted and it made the biscuit brownish. They were delicious.

Anzac day is coming up so here is a link to a google drawing with the history about the ANZAC'S. Have a great day, bye bloggers!!!

Double Rainbow

Talofa everyone!
Yesterday, me, Josie, Mum and Dad went for a walk. We went to Keith Hay Park and walked around both fields. Then we went over the bridge that crossed the motorway. We went past Mt Roskill Grammar School and then turned right. We turned right again, onto another bridge. We came off the bridge then went under it. We walked onto a street all the way to the dairy and then turned right. After we walked along that street, we went onto Stanford St. Rogan St was the street we hopped onto after Stanford. That's where we found the double rainbow. There was one bright rainbow at the bottom and a faded one at the top. Me and my Mum took a lot of photos of the double rainbow.

Before we went for a walk, me and my siblings had the first online school session. I was very excited because I was FINALLY going to see my teacher, friends, and classmates. We used Google Meet for the Term 2 online session. I really enjoyed it.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog post. Make sure to comment in your free time.
Bye!

Park Activities

Kia ora everyone!
Most days, me and my family go to Keith Hay Park. We've been doing a lot of activities there. We like to take equipment with us. So far, we've taken the frisbee, soccerball, and some tennis balls with 2 rackets. I enjoyed playing with the tennis set the most. We like to hit the tennis ball really high, then the other person catches it. I caught some of the tennis balls but most of them nipped my fingertips. I like playing tennis because it's a great sport to play if you like running around a lot. You need a lot of energy to play. I love the open fields, dark and white clouds. I like the colour of the sky when the sun sets too.

I REALLY enjoyed playing. Try get some fresh air, just make sure to keep 2 meters away from anyone. I hope to hear from you guys tomorrow, in the school online session.
Bye!

Baking Beauty

 Hey bloggers!
This week, we finally got some flour. We started baking on Wednesday. We made lots of delicious foods. Me, Josie and Mum made them. I had the job of sifting the dry ingredients. I also had the job of whisking the milk powder and water together.

WEDNESDAY - Apricot Choc Chip cake!
We put some vanilla ice cream on the side

of the cake. The picture on the left is
what it looked like when it was finished.
The picture on the right is me
mixing the dry ingredirents together.

THURSDAY - Waffles!
We made the batter and poured some of it into the waffle maker.
We tasted the first batch, we needed to add more flour. After we put more flour in, we put some of it into the waffle maker again. It tasted a lot like pancakes. (We fogot to take photos of the waffles)

FRIDAY - Chocolate biscuits!
It was a chocolate flavoured base, with melted chocolate chips. We made about thirty of them. There were so much, that we had to squish some of them into little gaps on the tray.

SATURDAY - Cheese scones!
We put grated cheese in the mixture. Then we put some extra cheese on the top of each scone. It was nice and cheesy. Some of us cut it in half and put some butter in it.

TODAY - Banana cake!
Me and the girls are going to make a banana cake today.
My brother says rotten bananas would make the cake sweeter.

I was really excited when I heard that we were going to be baking. I like baking because I get to learn more things and recipes. Thanks for reading my blog post. I hoped you enjoyed. You should have a go making these. They are delicious. Please give me some feedback in a comment. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Cadoo

Talofa lava everyone!
Yesterday, I played Cadoo with my sister, Josie. Whenever we play Cadoo, we just answer the question written on the card. We played for at least 10 minutes.
If you guys don't know what Cadoo is, then here is how to play it:

First, I have to tell you the rules:
- If you get a question wrong, you are NOT allowed to put one of your tokens down.
- If you get a 'Combo', you put the token on the board facing downwards.
- If you get a 'Solo', you have to put the token down facing upwards.
First one to get 4 in a row, is the winner.
The picture of the tokens is in the link.
Here is a link to an instruction sheet. It has all of the information on it.

It was really fun playing the game. I enjoyed playing Cadoo with my sister. You should try playing it. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog post. In your free time, please leave a comment down below. If you want, try answer the questions on the cards.

Bye!

Jigsaw Puzzles

Kia ora bloggers!

You wouldn't believe what my family did. We completed a puzzle that contained 500 pieces... in 1 NIGHT. It only took us a few hours to complete it. The finished picture showed a store with so much signs. In front of the store, there was a blue (with a mix of green) truck. It had 2 pumpkins, one cabbage and A LOT of potatoes in it. There was also another car parked next to the shop. It was red with a cat sleeping on top of it. There was so much animals, there were: cows, squirrels, dogs, cats, chickens, and different types of birds. The sky was filled with different colours. It looked really nice.

The other puzzle me and my family completed, was a 1000 piece puzzle. We just completed it today. It turned out to look like a city with tons of red roof'. There was a lake with a bridge that crossed over. Mountains were placed in the background with a beautiful sky filled with different colours. The bottom half was the hardest to figure out. This puzzle was actually my mum's. It was her birthday present for last year.

It was so fun, we did struggle a bit but it was worth it. The puzzle with 500 pieces was from our neighbours. They gave us another one to figure out, it was a 1000 piece puzzle. I can't wait to start on it, the excitement keeps on building up. I hope you guys enjoyed reading. In your free time, please leave a comment. Bye!!!

Crafts

Good morning bloggers!
I hope you guys have had a lovely first week of lock-down. Today I made 2 animal book marks and 2 origami animals.  I started off by making the animal book marks. One was a giraffe and the other one was snow leopard. I used the vivid to make the dots, eyes, nose and mouth for the giraffe. Yellow and brown were the colours I used for the book mark. The other book mark was plain white with black drawings. I added ears to both of the book marks because it had none.

I watched '5 Minute Crafts' on Youtube to make them.
The origami animals I made was a bunny and a crane. I left both of them plain white. It took quite a long time to make them because it was hard.
The last thing I made was a book orginizer. I made it out of a toilet roll. I named it and then I put the books inside the cut I made in the toilet roll. It was REALLY easy.

It was really fun and I enjoyed it. Look down below to see the crafts I did. Maybe, you could do these crafts one day. Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoyed and have a fun-filled week.

Bye bye

Jigsaw Puzzle...COMPLETED

Welcome bloggers,
I hope you guys are having a great time at home. Yesterday, my siblings and I helped my Mum complete the jigsaw puzzle. When the puzzle was finished, it made a picture of 4 Clydesdale horses. The Clydesdale is known as the biggest horse in the world. Once, my family and I saw a Clydesdale horse at Ambury Farm. These horses can grow to over 18 hands tall, that's 72 inches or 6 feet. The horses in the puzzle are pulling some men dressed in blue uniforms. They are firefighters.

It took us about 3 days to complete it. It was a 500 piece puzzle so the pieces were quite big. We got this jigsaw puzzle from our neighbour across the road. She said when we're finished, we could return the puzzle then she'll give us a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle!
I really enjoyed doing this puzzle with my family. I'd rather do a jigsaw puzzle with my family instead of on my own because I get more help.

What do you like to do with your family?
