Poem Slideshow

Kia ora bloggers!
Today I made a slideshow about poems. It talks about three different types of poems: Haiku, Free-Verse and Acrostic. I've added in how to write them. There is also an example I put in too.

At school, the senior syndicate had the Poetry Competition Finals. Earlier in the month, every student in Te Waka Ako read the poem they chose, or wrote, infront of their classroom. A few of the students got picked to be in the finals, I was one of them! We gathered in the hall so that the chosen students could perform infront of the judges. The judges were: Mr Margetts, Ms McGrath, Ms Daly, Ms Sands, Mrs Hill, Ms Kim and Mrs Jones.

Congratulations to the 4 students who got chosen to perform in production this year. Could you please give a round of applause for... Hosanna, Paityn, Jaimie and Arielle!

I've heard that there was a Poetry Slam on the Ako Hiko website so if you want to try it out, just go there. Have a look at my slideshow below too:

Reading Activity

Malo e lelei everyone!

This week for Reading, I had to make a Kahoot about the journal I was reading. It's called White Shoes by Melanie Drewery, illustratored by Vaughan Flanary. I added questions about the story, names of characters, the weather, and authors + illustrators. I am still working on it though. If you don't know what a Kahoot is, it's like a quiz with music and time limits for each question. You could change the music, pick any tye of question and so much more. If you guys want to create a Kahoot, than search up https://create.kahoot.it/ If you and your class want to play, search up https://kahoot.it/
