Siva Samoa Classes

🌴🌺Talofa lava bloggers🌺🌴

Today's blogpost is about my Siva Samoa lessons. It is a class where you learn how to siva, dance in samoan.

Before lockdown, my sister and I would go to The Auckland's Performing Arts Centre, TAPAC. There would be a Siva Samoa class in one of the rooms. It starts at 4:00pm, every Tuesday. We would start off by saying our introductions. I made a slideshow about what we do. It has a video of me saying my introduction.

I like doing the siva samoa lessons because I learn different dances and I get to meet new people. I enjoy the classes because I get to learn more samoan words too. Thank you for reading my blogpost. If you have any spare time, please leave a comment down below. Keep safe, blog you later!

  1. Ka pai Rael. I love that your slides have a mixture of text, images and videos. Other students could learn a lot from them. Maybe you could set them challenges to make their own introductions? Do the four principals you mentioned remind you of your school values?

  6. Hi Rael
I listened to your video. You are very accomplished at speaking in Samoan. The words just flowed and were so narural. It's awesome learning something that you really enjoy and meeting new people is great too. What Samoan dances have you learned? Maybe you could post a video of you doing one. We would all like to see you perform.
Stay safe and well, enjoy being with your family and we will see you back at school next Monday.

  7. Talofa lava Rael. Great blogpost. I like that the lessons teach principles as well. It made me think about my own values. Why do you like doing the samoan siva? Maybe next time you could name the different types of siva and explain what it is. Way to go Rael. Malo lava!
