Cross Country

Namaste bloggers!
On Thursday the 2nd of July, Waikwhai Primary had Cross Country, starting at 11:00am. Everyone sat down in their year groups. The Leadership Team and the other Yr 6's helped the teachers with the event. There were 6 stations, led by a group of teachers and Yr 6's.

Station 6 was the playground and rest area. The students could play some board games or take a rest. Station 5 was tennis. The children had to find a buddy and hit the ball to eachother. Station 4 was handball. You guys should know how to play that, right? Station 3 was blind fold games. The kids had to find a partner and one of them wore the blindfold, the other directing them. Station 2 was warm ups. This was the station before the Cross Country run. At last, Station 1. This is where the kids did the long run. Some of the Yr 6's were dressed in orange vests and holding bright, orange flags. Their job was to direct the childen to where they had to go.

I was a leader in Station 1. The others in Station 1 were: Yousuf, Maddison and Ari. Our roll was to; cheer for the kids coming near the finish line, tell them what to do before they go to the starting line, award house points and more. At the end of the day, the whole school sat on the senior courts to watch the Yr 6's do their run. I came 3rd place out of the girls, (Woohooo!!!).

I really enjoyed Cross Country. It was a lot of hard work but it was worth it. The thing I liked the most about it was that I got to exercise more and meet new people. Thanks for checking out my blogpost. Have an awesome last day of the term, happy holidays!!!
